Most jacket sellers buy leather from a supplier and never see the hide. We come from the other end of the trade: tanneries, hides and finishing. That experience decides what goes into each jacket: genuine suede or leather, no PU, no bonded leather, and careful stitching.
Suede is the brushed, softer side of the hide. It looks rich, feels warm and suits evenings and casual wear. Smooth leather is tougher and handles daily wear and light rain better. Our bomber jackets use both: a suede body with smooth leather sleeves.
A genuine leather jacket costs more than a PU jacket because of the hide, the cutting and the stitching. G7 jackets start at Rs 15,999. If a “leather” jacket is priced far below that, it is worth checking whether it is genuine.
